Dr Kidd heads the poultry science department

Mississippi State University (MSU) has named Dr Michael T Kidd as the new head of its poultry science department. He succeeds Wallace Morgan, who retired in June.

Dr Kidd (pictured) has been with the university's poultry faculty since 1999 and previously spent five years as a research manager and director with poultry research firm Nutri-Quest.

"We are fortunate to have a person with Dr Kidd's academic and industry experience," said Dr Vance Watson, MSU vice president for agriculture, forestry and veterinary medicine. "Poultry is an important part of the Mississippi economy, and Dr Kidd has a proven record of teaching and research in support of the industry."
