Dr Shiva Patil gets promoted

Putney Inc, the Portland, Maine-based business that develops generic veterinary pharmaceutical products for companion animals, has promoted Dr Shiva Patil to the post of vice-president of clinical development.

Dr Patil was appointed as director of pharmacology at the company just a few months ago, and has also worked for the contract research organization Acclaim Pharma Research. He has 17 years' experience in the industry. His new role will involve responsibility for the design and execution of clinical and bioequivalence studies to support Putney's drug applications to the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Veterinary Medicine.

The company's vice president of marketing and communications, Christina Perkins, has been named as a vice-president of the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARL). She will help develop a new signature fundraising event for the ARL. "Christina's work with the ARL, as well as her work with Putney, clearly demonstrates her passion for providing all companion animals with the best possible care," comments Putney founder Jean Hoffman.
