The National Office of Animal Health (NOAH), representing manufacturers of animal health products in the UK, elected Howard Wilder as its chairman for 2008-2009 at its annual general meeting late last month. He succeeds Graham Dick of Bayer Animal Heath, who moves to the post of NOAH past-chairman.
Mr Wilder is the founder and managing director of Genitrix, the manufacturer of therapies and treatments for companion animals, horses and exotic animals. A member of the NOAH board of management since 2005, he became vice-chairman in 2006.
"NOAH provides an important forum in which animal medicine manufacturers can come together on an equal footing to discuss the issues and opportunities they are facing and developments in the sector, "says Mr Wilder. "It's a clear reflection of the organization's democratic and inclusive approach that the contribution of smaller businesses such as Genitrix is valued as highly as that from the large global players. I look forward to making a strong contribution to its work in my new role as chairman."
The 2008-09 NOAH team of officers is completed by David Biland of Merial Animal Health as treasurer, David Ellerton of Virbac, John Hanley of Fort Dodge Animal Health and Dr Sue Huggett of Beaphar as vice-chairmen.
