Morris Animal Foundation (MAF) has released a special issue of its quarterly publication, AnimalNews, which focuses on cancer in companion animals, following the launch of its Canine Cancer Campaign.

The special report, available as a pdf download, announces the Canine Cancer Campaign, highlights the need for more cancer research, and also discusses a recently launched clinical trial for bone cancer treatment and the establishment of a nationwide canine tumor tissue bank. It also addresses additional cancer research being done for cats and horses.

Other topics include an MAF-funded program to train cancer researchers which will help fill the need for new veterinary oncologists.

The web content provides viewers with information on cancer symptoms, ways to reduce risk and breed susceptibility, as well as videos from Betty White, who lost her dog Kitta to cancer, renowned human and canine cancer researchers, and promising oncology students.
