Vetoquinol will open a new decentralized R&D center in Canada to respond more precisely to the specific needs of the North American market.

The French company says that the new division, which will be located in Saint-Hyacinthe, in the province of Quebec, will use local innovation to enhance its existing line of veterinary pharmaceutical products. In particular, the new center will focus on improving the stability and palatability of certain formulations, and developing more convenient presentations and packaging. The facility should also allow Vetoquinol to gain more time in preparing applications and renewals of local market authorizations.

Vetoquinol chairman and chief executive Etienne Frechin said: "This latest development further extends our reach in the world's biggest animal health market."

The company will start putting the center in place starting this month.
