Rooney joins GenVec

GenVec has appointed a new director to its board. Kevin M Rooney will fill a newly created post on the board, bringing the number of directors to seven.

Mr Rooney is currently the president of Beacon Consulting Group, which provides strategic consulting services to biopharmaceutical executives. He will also serve on GenVec's audit committee.

GenVec, based in Maryland, is currently using its proprietary adenovector technology to develop vaccines for diseases including foot and mouth disease.
