Mr Hosie, a former president of the Sheep Veterinary Society, has spent much of his career in the College's Veterinary Services Diseases Surveillance Centres. He has also worked at diagnostic laboratories in the Middle East and New Zealand, where he gained experience in diseases that are becoming more relevant in Scotland.
"Maintaining surveillance for new and emerging diseases of animals is now more important than ever before. I look forward to maintaining SAC's capability of providing a high quality disease surveillance and diagnosis service for Government, veterinary surgeons and their clients," says Mr Hosie.
