Porcine circovirus vaccine looks promising, say scientists

A new vaccine protecting pigs against porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) could soon be available following positive results from an Intervet commercial vaccine used by researchers at Kansas State University (KSU).

The researchers conducted a wean-to-finish clinical trial on 485 pigs on a commercial hog farm in northeast Kansas. The pigs were randomly divided into six groups at the time they were weaned and were given doses of the vaccine at three and six weeks of age....
