Virus leak leads to further Merial vaccine suspension

Merial's licence to use bluetongue and foot and mouth disease (FMD) viruses for vaccine manufacture at its Pirbright laboratory in the UK has been suspended by the national government. This follows the company's admission of a leak of live FMD virus at the site. More

Scientists from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada have found a link between LP, the main gene that causes the distinct spotting in some of Appaloosa horses eeds, and the development of congenital stationary night blindness (CSNB). More
