Flies may play in transmitting the virus among poultry
Flies can transmit exotic Newcastle, say US researchers

US scientists have found that flies that have been exposed to a food source infected with exotic Newcastle disease (ND) can pick up and carry the virus for several days and later pass it on to chickens that eat them.

Despite Pfizer being named Animal Health Company of the Year, it was Merial that dominated the evening by winning three awards, New Veterinary Product – Livestock, Best New Veterinary Product – Equine, and Drug Delivery Advance. The 12 award categories have been developed to focus on the rapidly evolving animal health industry and have been selected after industry and market consultation.
